The Coffee Shop

Coffee Shop Helps The TIC Establish Itself as the Meeting Place of Choice

Over the past few years, the stylish Thames Innovation Centre in Erith, also known as the TIC, has attracted a lot of attention for its eco-friendly design and stylish offices. However, key to its recent success has been the opening of a Coffee Shop in its large impressive atrium. With a broad range of drinks, snacks and healthy meals, the TIC Coffee Shop is helping to attract business people from near and far.

The Thames Innovation Centre provides meeting rooms, conference facilities and serviced offices. With easy parking, wi-fi and a stylish and creative ambience, it is becoming a popular place for business lunches and tea break.

"The Coffee Shop has been a great success," said Lesley Anne Rubenstein. "Not only has it helped build a stronger sense of community and friendship amongst the businesses that work here but it is also attracting in people from nearby businesses and the general public who value the opportunity to relax and meet in the TIC's atrium."

The Thames Innovation Centre is a stylish £8.2 million pound eco building, part funded by the European Union to help develop business in the Bexley region. It was recently host to a hi-tech conference that attracted some of the world's leading developers of microprocessor based development tools. In addition to its environmental credentials, stylish design and its impressive atrium, the Thames Innovation Centre boasts a broad range of office sizes and workshop spaces. Business facilities include video conferencing, an IT training room, a fast Internet infrastructure and a fully equipped modern conference room.

The TIC Coffee Shop is focused on good quality food and provides a range of services, from staff breakfasts to fresh vegetarian lunchtime options. In addition to this, the Coffee Shop provides the catering for the organisations that hire out meeting rooms and the TIC's conference facilities.

"It's a great location for our Coffee Shop," said Marilyn Lewis. "The atrium at the TIC is always light and airy and has a really relaxing ambience. It's also nice to see all the various tenants and local people meeting up for breaks during the day and having a good time. It feels good to be a part of that."

The Thames Innovation Centre has also found itself benefiting from the London Congestion Charge. Being outside the congestion zone is seen as an important business advantage to many companies, making the Thames Innovation Centre an attractive and more cost effective location for meeting and conferences.

The TIC Coffee shop also provides outside catering for both private and business functions in the Bexley and Erith region. Visit http://www.tcscorporatecatering.co.uk for more information.

About The Thames Innovation Centre

At a cost of £8.2m, the Thames Innovation Centre represents a new breed of commercial buildings. As well as housing stylish offices, conference rooms and a cafe area, the entire building has been built to address the environment. Using geothermic heating from the ground, solar panels for water heating and intelligent lighting systems that maximise the use of daylight, the Thames Innovation Centre represents one of the first buildings in Europe that will help technology companies address their impact on the environment.
